HUNTING

We often receive inquiries for permission to hunt on land owned by the American River Conservancy. We do not permit hunting on our property at this time. We are working on a large acquisition project, El Dorado Ranch (https://bit.ly/4dbL6iW), that once completed, will be transferred to CDFW for management as a State Wildlife Area (7,000 acres). One of the permitted uses in Wildlife Areas is hunting. We have also protected over 10,000 acres that have been transferred to BLM over the years. Many of these lands are now open for hunting and other recreational activities. This includes Cronan Ranch, Norton Ravine, Magnolia Ranch, and Kanaka Valley.
