The Cosumnes River Basin

| The project represents
a key part of a larger effort to preserve an intact, landscape-scale ecosystem,
running the entire 80-mile length of the Cosumnes River, from its headwaters
in the Eldorado National Forest to its confluence with the Mokelumne River
in California's Central Valley. The Cosumnes is the last river on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada without a major dam. (See below for a full size map of the project area.) |
